Maintenance Supervisor

~~Scope of Position:

Increase company profitability by providing manufacturing departments with well maintained    equipment while ensuring quality and ability to meet production requirements.
2.         Key Responsibilities:  

a)         Directly supervise/manage all maintenance personnel.  This includes supervision of hourly employees.
b)         Assist maintenance personnel in solving maintenance related problems and/or new projects, with minimum interruption to production.  This includes the joint decision with senior management whether to take equipment off production or proceed with temporary measures.
c)         Estimate, schedule and execute preventative maintenance program for all equipment.
d)         Source all parts and components required for equipment maintenance and improvement.
e)         Actively participate in the design, development and/or implementation of latest technologies to improve productivity and/or quality.
f)          Ensure and enforce maintenance personnel compliance to all health and safety rules and housekeeping principles.
g)         Perform all maintenance and repair work in either plant or grounds.
h)         Make recommendations to improve equipment efficiency and cost reduction.  This includes manufacturing, repair and installation of parts, components, services and equipment.
            i)          Prepare list of all problems encountered during the shift and other necessary reports.
            j)          Work in compliance with TS16949 and ISO 14001 Standards.
k)         Reviews daily production schedules and instructs operators in job set-up.
l)              Will maintain due diligence in regard to environmental matters, minimize any
Potentially harmful accidents and work in compliance with ISO 14001.  Will follow the environmental guidelines for aspects as outlined in job training requirements.
m)           Arrange for proper disposition of used copper weld tips at scrap dealer.
n)             Will work in compliance with all legislative requirements of the OHSA and will be accountable for specific Health & Safety responsibilities, as outlined under “Safety & Environmental Responsibilities – Department Supervisor/Leadhand.
o)            Meet goals as set out in Annual Review.

4.         Basic Requirements:

a)         Have the ability to interact with all levels of employees in organization, customers, suppliers, sub-contractors, engineers, etc.
b)         Possess management and supervisory skills in the areas of Interaction and communication; Hiring; Orientation; Company policies; Performance reviews; Pay administration; Discipline; Absenteeism; Negotiation; Computer skills within one year.
c)         Have good knowledge of electrical basics and PLCs.
d)         Have good knowledge of press operation where applicable.
